A glorious morning but unfortunately very little time available to us for walking today. Straight after breakfast we made our way to the Gummer's How car park and after a lot of huffing and puffing we reached the summit and some glorious views. A quick visit to Fell Foot Park was made only to find that the cafe was closed and that the "Picnic in the Park" mobile unit hadn't opened yet. On the way home we called into Happy Mount Park at Morecambe to meet up with the family.

The Coniston fells across Windermere from near the car park.

Gummer's How. One of Lakelands best "value for climbing" viewpoints.

We are still in the shade at the moment as we look down to Lakeside and Summer House Knott.

The stone stairway. I don't mind going up the steps too much but try to avoid the jarring on my knee of the descent.

Above the stairway and into the sun now and it is one glorious morning.

A distant Black Combe.

The Conistons over Stott Park Heights

The summit is soon in view.

Gummer's How summit.

Summit views ....the Coniston fells.

Towards Langdale.

Helvellyn and Fairfield fells with Lonscale Fell in the distant left.

Eastern fells

The Howgills

From the summit we walked down to see more of Windermere.

Lakeside.

Looking up Windermere

We took the same route down as on our last visit thus avoiding the stairway.

Nearly down to the main path

Back at the car park

Last views of Dow Crag and Coniston Old Man

From the car park we drove down to visit Fell Foot park.

Where these Rhododendrons were a little confused with the seasons.

The foot of Windermere

Looking up Windermere.

Unfortunately the cafe was not open. There was a mobile unit there from the "Picnic in the Park" event but that hadn't yet opened.

The MV Teal arrives at Lakeside.

Gummer's How from Fell Foot.

On our way home we called in at Happy Mount Park at Morecambe to meet up with the family.

Back row (l -r)..... Sophie, Renee, Lana, Edith and David.  Front row....Nicole and Harvey

Renee & Sophie (l)  and Lana & Sophie (r) on the swingboats

Nicole in the meantime had taken Nan over.

Renee having forsaken the swing boats is given an hand by Nicole.
