After a few days off I was feeling a bit better and a lovely day tempted me out to Silverdale for this short walk.
We left the car near the school in Silverdale and walked back through the village...
..to take the field paths across to The Cove.
The far field by now had lots of Early Purple Orchids flowering...
....and the views down the bay were absolutely gorgeous.
There were plenty of reasons to stop and look back..
A look down on The Cove as we leave the fields.
Now on the shore and looking towards Grange....
...and now back towards Silverdale and Morecambe.
Our route today would take us through Elmslack and into Eaves Wood.
Walking through Elmslack.
There was only a short climb...
...before reaching the entrance to Eaves Wood where we turned right...
...to follow the well walked path along the bottom edge of the woods.
This is what we love most about Eaves Wood, the lovely outcrops of mossy covered limestone.
Before long we reached the car park and after crossing the road we walked along The Row to access the field paths back to Silverdale.
This cow never moves....I think it is of the species Bovinae Plasticus.
Looking back towards The Row as we set off across the fields.
Not far now, there's the church at Silverdale.
Looking over to Eaves Wood.
Spot the Pepper Pot?
And back to the car where we drove down to the shore.
I was feeling OK so we had a short walk along the shore towards Jack Scout. We didn't get that far but here a a few of the pictures.
That's all folks....hope you enjoyed.
